Meet Melissa Donne

Melissa is a British artist holding degrees in fashion design and film theory. She began her small business back in 2019, selling art prints and greeting cards online and at makers markets as well as in independent stores and galleries internationally. Right now, a significant part of her time is dedicated to working on commissions and licensing her work for brands.

She is heavily inspired by color which underpins most of her creative practice: finding bold and often clashing color combinations is what sets her artwork apart, giving it a distinctive edge. She finds inspiration in botanical and food art as well, and nature in general. Seeking inspiration in the world around her, taking a walk outside, looking at flora, helps her to visualize compositions and then add her unique style to them.

Much like us, Melissa is a planner person! She loves keeping both a physical planner and a diary, using them every single day. Making lists and bullet points in a planner and putting appointments in a diary – it’s all a part of her daily routine. Nothing compares to writing things down and ticking tasks off as they get done in a planner with a beautiful design. It’s so much more appealing and helps to reflect your personality more than just typing things in a digital calendar. The most important part of a planner layout for Melissa is that there is enough space to add notes and to-do lists, and even create little doodles to make entries fun – just like in the “split” layout from So Typical Me.
